About the Festival
Winterruption YXE transforms Saskatoon's frosty January into a celebration of warmth and creativity, blending music, theatre, comedy, dance, and more into a vibrant arts experience. Since its inception in 2016, this multi-day, multi-venue festival has grown to feature 30+ events across 10+ locations, drawing thousands of attendees to embrace the winter season with shared stories, laughter, and unforgettable performances.
The festival also extends outdoors with "Winterruption Outdoor," a family-friendly cultural celebration that includes storytelling tipis where Indigenous and newcomer voices shine. Rooted in collaboration with community organizations and businesses, Winterruption brings together people from all walks of life to enjoy diverse programming that offers something for everyone, indoors and out.
