The Friends of The Broadway Theatre is a non-profit, community-based organization with charitable status, dedicated to the preservation and restoration of Saskatoon’s historic Broadway Theatre, a civically and federally recognized heritage building. The Theatre is a 430-seat venue for live music, film, dance, theatre and both community and private events, and it plays a significant role as a community arts and culture centre.
Our Vision: To be a leader and builder of the arts within our community, and a leader and building of community through the arts.
Our Mission: To educate, entertain and inspire our community through artist, cultural and organizational leadership.
The Broadway Theatre acknowledges that the land on which we gather is Treaty 6 Territory, the traditional territory of First Nations and homeland of the Metis. We acknowledge with gratitude and respect that we have the ability to continue gathering and creating in this place.
The Broadway Theatre is a Safe Space.
The Broadway Theatre staff, board and volunteers commit to creating and supporting a safe, inclusive environment for everyone in our community. We commit to anti-oppression language and behaviour and to honour diversity in age, race, ancestry, religion and spirituality, sex, gender identity, nation of origin, sexual orientation, socio-economic status and ability.
The Broadway Theatre will ensure that all persons at our events will be treated with respect, and will not tolerate harassment, discrimination, or assault of any kind.
Acts of racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, harassment or any other violation of human rights will be addressed promptly.
If you experience this kind of behaviour, please let a staff member know.
It’s Your Broadway Theatre. Please respect it, or be asked to leave.
During operating hours and during any Broadway Theatre event, a staff member is available and accessible to help you. This person is a safe option to talk to, and is here for assistance if you feel our anti-oppression guidelines are not being respected.
If you are feeling vulnerable and are not comfortable addressing those who are threatening the safety of the space, staff will assist you so that you find safe transport to your destination.
Thank you for helping us keep The Broadway events safe for everyone in our community.
